Corendon make use from the financial backing, granted by "Brussel" to start new routes from MAA.
(see news aug. 7th MAA section)

But nevertheless more destination choice are welcome and make the airport more actrative for all
parties. Spotters included.
I do really wonder to what extent that these routes are subsidized Popijopi, most are already served from other airports in the region and no overlap was a strict requirement to prevent unfair competition.

The nearest airport (Liege) does not serve Catania or Ibiza and for me it's clear that Eindhoven or Koln is indeed another region.
I don't see Eindhoven as a different region, as with Dusseldorf or Weeze, their catchment areas cover Limburg. With respect to CGN, I agree, that's a different region. We have already seen competition between EIN and MST in the past. Do you recall Ryanair's STN route? But it all depends on what the definition of 'airports in the region' according to Brussels is of course.

Maybe none of us of know the Brussels def. of same region. ( Euregio perhaps with Liege as the only other airport ? )

Clear is in a dense area like London or Paris that the airports of those cities belonging to the same region.

Catchment areas can change due to circumstances and have nothing to do with this issue. Otherwise Zaventem
airport has nearly the same distance as Eindhoven from MAA. and must be included. A lot of travellers are coming from Belgium to use MAA often.

For making the airport attractive it would be great if Corendon keeps on flying during the winter with sun and winter destinations. That could mean the start of competing with Corendon for other airlines as well.

Heraklion, Kos, Faro and Antalya are the only bookable flights at the moment. The others are removed from the system...

... and back again to the regular two flights p/w.

Like Neplev said: Corendon will do a lot of changes until the beginning of December, more changes will appear (and disappear).

And probably no stop-overs anymore at f.e. GRQ or EIN!
