The subsidies for MAA are a.o. meant to setup new non competing connections.

According Fons Latour (Head Aviation Development MAA)
1) More low cost airline connections
2) Business connections: Munich, Berlin and London City
3) Holiday flights (Germania, Corendon,...)

Any ideas or guesses what the first new connections will be or what (new) airlines will be flying these from/to MAA :?:

Whether made possible by the new subsidy programme is disputable, but Corendon appears to be adding Ibiza, Malaga and Izmir. Ibiza and Malaga are both served from EIN already, Izmir could be a possible candidate for the programme, but is served from DUS and BRU already. However, Corendon already mentioned possible expansion at MST before the support programme was announced, so my educated guess is that these routes are not subsidized.

Nonetheless, I wonder what the criterium is for 'luchthavens in de buurt'. Within how many kilometers should these airports be located to be earmarked as such? Does anybody know?

According planespotters.net MNG flys only with Airbus A300 and A330. Maybe they will expand/charter a 747 for this traffic ?
Anyone with more information ? about startdate, freq. ?

Anyone with an update on this one or access to the full article? As well an update available for the Damco flights?

Maybe the 747 thing is due to what is written in the following article.

From hear say; hangar still needs a few modifications for aircargo - it's full with truck cargo - truck cargo needs to stop in oktober and make room for air cargo, so hopefully in oktober...

Old MST customer Air Bridge Cargo is gonna lose most of its AMS slots because they didn't flew their 80% on time ratio, perhaps a better chance for MST instead of contracting a total new airline(s)..

MST should get their new permit, to start using full lenght of the runway in place, asap before they loose momentum. For sure these airlines are already looking into alternatives for schiphol

Nieuwsblad Transport mentioned this on 27 July 2017:
We've seen Saudia come to MST and the management has mentioned more flights of this airliner, so let's hope ABC will materialize too.

MNG Cargo via Maastricht naar New York13 september 2017 10:37 VRACHTVLUCHTEN

ABC cargo airlines

The carrier is looking for alternatives for the lost slots of Schiphol is confirmed today.
The article in luchtvaartnieuws shows more information, but not clear is the moment that
those slots are no longer available. ( start winter schedule or ever later ?)

Do they have the same go around time which we have in Maastricht?
Still keep in mind that this is also a important item, as not flying is no money making.
