Last week Turkish Cargo announced a new scheduled cargoflight from Nairobi to MST. Since 1998 this routing was flown by several airlines under CLX or TFS flightnumber. Ofcourse we all remember CLX wich is Cargolux. But not only Cargolux operated those flights. Evergreen International, Atlas Air, Tower Air Cargo, Air Atlanta Icelandic, Global Air Group, Kalitta, CaribJet, MK Airlines, and mistery B747 with N320Y as registration under DTA flightnumber operated flights, mostly on behalf of Cargolux from JNB, via NBO to MST.
But as I said, Evergreen International was the first airline, seen on this route. The photo shows Evergreen International B747-212C N485EV cleared for take-off on runway 22 for her short hop to LUX.
The 747 Convertible started her career as 9V-SIA for Singapore Airlines in 1973. Tigerair USA took her over in 1979 as N747TA. Flying Tigers registered her as N747FT in 1982. Panam took her over in 1983 as N728PA. In 1991 she became N485EV of Evergreen International. Saudia leased her from 1992 till 1998. In 2012 her active live came to an end as she was stored.
