Recently there was a discussion of who was the biggest visitor ever in the GPA/Expressair-MAAS paintinghangar. The reason for this is that the inside of MAAS hangar 1, the former GPA/Expressair hangar is rebuild recently so that only single aisle aiplanes fitted in the hangar. The A321 and B757 will be the biggest for the future... No more IL-62's, IL-86's, A300's, A310's, B707's, B767's, and that one and only DC-10. Well, as a matter of fact, we won't see most of the mentioned type's anymore, even as MAAS 1 wasn't changed, but I only want you to feel what was once in the past...
Was that DC-10 actually the biggest? It didn't fit in total inside the hangar as the tail was to big. The fuselage was pulled inside so the paintingcrew could remove the SkyJet titels and paint the new Astra Airlines logo on the plane. The tail followed later outside on a sunny day. So lateron the Ten could be pictured outside, awaiting her delivery to Astra Airlines, still as V2-SKY.
