[COLUMN] 1992 Balkanwar refugee flights at MST; When Boeing 727's still were a common visitor: Aviogenex B727-200 YU-AKM

Were you at MST when the good old T2 Aviation B727-200F paid a visit to MST?
If so you must had love to see such a good old hardware as a Boeing 727 on the tarmac's of Maastricht in 2017. I was there and I loved it! Feeling the old vibrations of aviation from long, long ago, when Boeing 727's were a common plane. It is hard to imagine, but at some airports they were quite boring after a while. Like Frankfurt in the eighties for instance... 08.00: Hey, Lufty 727...Yes!! 09.00: Hey, another Lufty 727... Riiiiight... 11.00: What is that? A Lufty 72 again, ey... 11.30: A Lufty 727... Jee... 13.00: A Lufty ehhh... 14.00: Oh boy, a Lufty, never mind. 17.00: What's coming up next? A Lufty 727? Pfff... 18.00: Oh no, not another one.....

In 1992 during the Balkanwar MST was handling a lot of refugeeflights from the fomer Yugoslavia. Several kinds of airplanes, from B737's to Tu-154's, to even a DC-10 were involved. Serbia's charterairliner Aviogenex was one of the carriers bringing refugee's to MST. Before the Balkanwar Aviogenex was frequently at MST for summercharters towards the Yugoslavian coast. However, on the photo's you see Aviogenex B727-200 YU-AKM after landing on the 04, full of refugee's on her way to the terminal back in the summer of 1992.
