[COLUMN] 1984-1992 Emery Worldwide Charters: Trans International Airlines

Postby Guido » 18 Sep 2016, 10:49

Trans International Airlines was another Emery Charter in 1988. They sended a couple of times an Eight across the pond to help out. I was able to catch the all white DC-8-61CF N47UA on a dule and grey Sundaymorning...

In the winter of 1984 TIA parked up DC-8-61CF N861FT for a while at the cargo. It was parked for quite a period before it took a hop into the sky again.

At cargo North, Bjorn. This was before they expanded the cargobuilding. The expanding took place in 1986 when Emery started their flights. Therefore cargo North was as half as big as it is now what gave the oppertunity to take pics on the southside of the apron.

On this pic, with Air Zaïre DC-8-63CF 9Q-CDM on the foreground you have an impression of the cargobuilding in those days. It reached till the centerlightpole on the platform. The part next to it was build lateron.
